  • it's been forever!

    well. i haven't completely abandoned xanga. :)

if anybody stumbles onto my page again, i just wanted to give you an updated update.

Elijah is now 5 months old! It's amazing! God's amazing for letting me stay at home with him full-time. Matt is still working at his retail store. He's been promoted to key-holder, hence the whole stay-at-home thing for me. So we just praise God for the promotion at the right time for us. Elijah looks just like his dad. I think the only thing I can claim any resemblance for, are his ears. That's about it. But that's fine with me. It's really funny about his eyes. I kid you not, they are brown and blue!! Blue like his dad's, and brown like mine. The center of his iris is brownish, then fades into a deep beautiful blue on the outside rim. His eyes are not permanently set yet, so there is still for them to turn completely brown, then I may claim his eyes came from me! :)

There's honestly not much else going on. Just baby stuff. So of course, I have a little collection of photos of him to share with you all!

    Enjoy!

  • Elijah is here!

    Hey Everyone!

I wanted to let all my xanga family know about Elijah!

My son Elijah was born Oct. 9, 2007 at 4:16am. He weighed 7lbs 2oz. and was 20 in. long. Here's how he decided to come into the world:

    * I started small, mild contractions the morning of Oct. 8th.
    * Contractions continue all day. About 15 min. apart.
    * Matt comes home from work early, at 3pm.
    * Contractions become more frequent and harder.
    * My mom told me, I would intuitively know when I needed to go to the hospital.
    * By 5pm, I knew it was time.
    * Contractions were getting so hard, I had to hold Matt's hand each time. His touch truly helped ease the pain.
    * Arrive at hospital around 6pm.
    * I was dialated to a 2, and those contractions were hard even at that low number!
    * They had me walk around the hallways for 45min. They wanted me to a higher number.
    * It worked. I was to a 4 and was begging for an epidural! I could hardly walk to the room.
    * I was up to a 5 or 6, by the time the epidural came. When I recieved it, I felt as though a miracle had happened! I went from feeling like a tortured soul, to feeling like I was on vacation. All smiles! Praise God for epidurals!
    * By midnight, I was fully dialated!
    * I pushed for 2 hours, and still no baby.
    * The doctor saw that my pelvic-bone was lower than average. The baby would have to do gymnastics to get through. And the baby was never in the right position during those 2 hours anyway.
    * So, it was C-Section time. I was fine with that, but nobody warned me about the uncontrolable shaking during the surgery. They had to increase my epidural, to numb my body, which caused the shaking.
    * At 4:16am, Elijah was born! His cry was the cutest thing I ever heard! Almost sounded like a stressed-out kitten.
    * Matt was in the room the whole time. He cut the cord and everything.
    * When they brought Elijah to my face, I burst into tears! I cried, "He's so cute!" And when Elijah heard me, he turned his face toward mine. (i'm about to cry writing this.)
    * After stapling me back together, they put Elijah next to me, and wheeled us off to our room.
    * He was finally here! Our God-given baby boy!
    * We spent the next 3 1/2 days in the hospital, cherishing all the nurses help.
    * On Friday the 12th, we went home. All three of us!

    -And you know the rest.

    Unique fact about Elijah!

Elijah weighed 7lbs 2oz. when he was born. All babies go down in weight, after the birth. Elijah did go down to 6lbs ?oz. When a baby is 2-3 weeks old, they should be back up to their birth weight.
When we left the hospital on Friday, he weighed 7lbs. 1oz.! The nurse who told us, was in shock! She said that never happens! Also, when we went to the doctor, just 4 days after coming home from the hospital, Elijah weighed 7lbs. 9oz.!!
All I can say is, Elijah has a huge appetite!

  • I'm excited!!

    Just am.

    Maybe, it's the baby.

Maybe, it's because Matt just got home.

Maybe, it's because American Idol is coming on tonight.  (j/k)

Maybe, because I have the day off tomorrow.

Maybe, I'm happy for no reason!

Actually, I'm just happy to be genuinely happy.  This is rare for me to be happy for no reason.  I couldn't think of anything to write, so I just wanted to write how I feel!  And I feel guilty for not writing on here in a long time!  But I'm still happy.  Guilty, but happy.

*Oh!  I've already had a sonogram!  We saw our lil' peanut!!  He or She was .65 cm.  And we saw the heartbeat!  The big sonogram is in April.    I'm happy about that too!

God is so awesome!  To have a baby grow inside of us.  Makes me think about how God creates us.  We are shaped after God's own image!  Just like a baby is shaped after his mom and dad.

    Awesome!

  •  Okay, I can't hold it in any longer!  Even though, my first doctor's apointment is on the 6th.

Someone is coming in 8 months!

    I'm already one month along.

    I'm pregnant!!

Matt & I are very happy and excited!!  We'd appreciate all of your prayers, this year for the baby's health and as we prepare for him or her.

    (i think it's a him.)
